An IPE beam is used for construction purposes and can withstand a significant load. However, the load capacity is lower than that of an H beam, such as HEM beam, HEB beam or HEA beam. The most important characteristic of an IPE beam is that it is narrower than, for example, a HEA beam. The advantage of this is that an IPE beam can be more easily finished in a wall.
